Youth Battle to the Ball25th February 2008

The second quarter saw changes with Steph Collard moving to GK, Abi Ryan moving to GD, Laura O'Mahony coming on at WD and Michealla McFarlane coming on at WA. Micheala quarter did not last long due to a struggle with and knee injury which saw the return of Shana Potgieter. Mavericks Youth continued to battle hard to prevent feeds into Lightning tall GS. With some excellent feeds into the circle Mavericks Youth ended the quarter ahead 23-22. The third quarter saw more changes with Charlotte South coming on at GA, Sophia Candappa returning to the court at C and Ellesse Lee coming on at GK. With some excellent pressure defensively all the way down the court Mavericks Youth managed to turn over many balls. With some accurate shooting these turnovers were converted into goals with the score being 37-28 at the end of the quarter. The final quarter saw more changes with Sophia Candappa moving to WA and the return of Adele Burnett at C. Mavericks Youth continued to battle hard in every aspect of the game and prevented lighting attempts to steal the game.
