The Hertfordshire Mavericks Senior Squad season has started; a new sponsor and a new game started the 2009/2010 season. Fast Net came to Hatfield. Three pre season matches were played at the University of Hertfordshire Sports Village. The spectators were watching an adapted game that involved rolling on and off players, an amendment on the centre pass, opportunity for shooting outside the circle and the Power Play 2 pointers!

The Hertfordshire Mavericks Squad all had an opportunity to compete on court and Leeds Carnegie, Team Northumbria and Team Bath provided competitive opposition. Maggie Jackson; in commenting on the day was delighted that all her players had a run out and a variety of combinations were played; she also added her appreciation of the franchises who accepted the invitation and made the long journey to Hatfield. “it was a long day for the 3 opponents and all players had Sunday club games too. However it was an ideal way of looking at how the preseason training was going for us and where are our focus needs to be now 2 weeks before the season starts”
