Young & Not So Young

The announcement for the Mavericks squads 2007/8 have been made and in the analysis it appears that two people are from the same tutor group! Katherine Thornton in the Mavericks Youth and Deb Jones in the Mavericks.

Interestingly, Katherine is also the youngest of any of the Mavericks to be selected and DJ is the oldest... a fact that DJ is not too happy about! Katherine started at Upper School last September and has gone from strength to strength with her netball. She was places in Deb's tutor group from the outset and was made captain of the school team within weeks of being there. It must be useful to have a role model and fellow player as a teacher at the same school as they can understand the pressures of training and selection. Maybe they were placed together as they are alike... they are both very determined to succeed and very headstrong!

Apparently they have both been known to lock horns, sometimes as tutor and sometimes as tutee... it has to be said that Katherine is still too young to beat DJ though... "Bring it on Thornton!" said Deb "I'll keep your bib warm 'til you're old enough to claim it!"
