Who wants to be a SuperLeague Coach?

At the cut off of the transfer window the Mavericks coaching team have had to make some tough important decisions. Six players have been deselected from the squad as World Championship players have returned and transfers have been made. Maggie Jackson has always stressed from the beginning that Super League is a different level to any other competition and it is important to have the best combination of players; this year was always going to be more difficult as the season started without the World Championship players being available.

“The players selected for the first half of the season did and are doing a great job and have worked hard at squad technical training twice a week as well as their strength and conditioning work and it enabled several of the squad players to get court play and show their potential” However competition for the 15 places has been tight and over the last 3 weeks Maggie has had to explain her action and reasoning to players. All players have the opportunity to continue to train with the senior squad but for their match play 4 players have returned to their regular Premier Club spots whilst Abi Ryan will now combine her A Level studies with Mavericks Youth match play. Lindsey Press has decided to accept a transfer to the Brunel Hurricanes squad
for the remainder of the season. We wish them all well.
