Karen Atkinson had to have her bags packed this week end as if Mavericks had lost in the Play Off there was a plane ticket standing by ready to ensure that she would be able to start preparing for the ANZ league with her Australian Perth based squad West Coast Fever which starts next Saturday.
However she is now able to remain in England another week and continue to prepare for the Co-operative Super League Final with Mavericks.
Karen will then leave for down under next Sunday hopefully with a winners medal in her bag!
Other English athletes who left before the end of their NSL season and are already abroad include Ama Agbeze, Geva Mentor, Tamsin Greenway & Sonia Mkoloma.
