Mavericks Staff Put on Their Dresses Again!

BBC East Sports Awards 2008 sponsored by the University of Hertfordshire and Sport England were held at Duxford on Monday 8th December and Mavericks were represented by Gloria Keech, Kendra Slawinski and Maggie Jackson.
The awards aim to recognise and celebrate the best people in sport across the Eastern Region. Sports personalities and those involved in sport across all disciplines are invited to the event which was hosted by BBC Look East presenters Stewart White and John Inverdale.
The East Region had a tremendous amount of sporting success to celebrate and there were many high performance athletes, coaches and administrators from across a range of sports present. Netball was well represented with
Abigail Ryan, a former Mavericks player, now part of Team Northumbria, being nominated in the Young Sporting Personality category and Maureen Ball, President of Turnford Netball Club, receiving the award for the Community Club of the Year - congratulations to all those involved in their club .
