As the transfer window closed for Hertfordshire Mavericks prior to the match against Northumbria there was a final transaction in their playing squad. Following a serious training mishap 6 weeks ago Stef Bello has been sidelined due to a serious nose and cheek injury; such a committed player who trains rehabs and assists in the analysis of matches has unfortunately run out of time and Maggie Jackson has had to make a difficult decision to deregister her . “It is important that we have options in all areas of the court and therefore having 15 players is important, hence why we have brought in Sophia Candappa a standout player for the Maverick Youth Squad and a current England Under 19 player. The commitment that Stef has demonstrated has made it difficult and we all wish her well as she begins training again and competed for her club side Academy. Congratulations to Sophia who has been training with the seniors and deserves this opportunity".
