Mavericks vs Thunder

For the fith consecutive year Mavericks have made it to the Play Offs showing that our franchise is once again one of the strongest in the CNSL. Alongside this success the Youth squad have come Runners Up in the Talent League (aka NTL) and as usual a raft of players have had international performances.

This Friday 30th April at 7:30pm, Hertfordshire Mavericks will face Northern Thunder away at the Castle Leisure Centre in Bury in the first Play Off of the 2009/10 season. Thunder have grown this season with the England additions of Clarke and Bayman seemingly making the difference in helping to secure their Play Off position. In the last league match of the season Mavericks were left 22 goals adrift from the yellow and blacks however the team that faced them was depleted and it seems there may be some key players returning to the court for this all important event. Although it is not ideal to be placed fourth and going away to Bury for this fixture, this has never stopped Mavericks in the past. Come along and support our girls!

The winner of the "Battle in Bury" will go forward to play the loser of the Storm vs Bath match on the weekend of 8th/9th May. This match will take place at either the Surrey Sports Park or Bath University.
