2020 Preseason Run Out vs Team Bath - Saturday 11th January

13th January 2020

As the 2020 season draws closer Saracens Mavericks returned to their home of HSV for a preseason run out against the blue and gold Team Bath.

It was a red and black family affair with both the U17’s & U21’s hitting the court before hand against local rivals Surrey Storm.

U17’s gained some good experience in a 42-51 defeat, whilst the U21’s were victorious in a 65-49 showdown.

Saracens Mavericks VNSL squad played across 6 x 10minute periods and used it as an opportunity to expose connections and combinations, whilst also gaining more valuable court time for two U21 players Paige McCalla & new England Roses Academy Player Aliyah Zaranyika.

All hit the court in an expected and strong contest from Team Bath and coming away with a 64-56 win was a nice addition to the bigger picture of benchmarking where Mavericks sit just six weeks before the start of the season.

Kat Ratnapala, Director of Netball “whilst the score was a nice bonus, I was more pleased with what we were able to put into practice today. We still have six weeks of hard preseason work to do and with many of the squad on Roses & England A duty, we’ll all be working hard in our respective areas to keep connected so that we can hit the ground running come February 22nd”.

Saracens Mavericks are next in preseason action on Saturday 1st February against Wasps at the Hertfordshire Sports Village. GET YOUR TICKETS HERE
