Welcome to the Ultimate Netball Club
Announcement Player Update - Summer Artman and Zara Everitt

27th August 2018

With 2019 Squad selection in progress, benecosMavericks can confirm that both Zara Everitt and Summer Artman will be leaving Mavericks and taking up opportunities elsewhere.  We would like to take this opportunity to thank both of these players for their commitment to the club over a number of years and wish them well in the future.

benecosMavericks Director of Netball Kathryn Ratnapala had this to say about the two departures:

Zara Everitt:

"We are incredibly proud of Zara’s achievements whilst she’s been with benecosMavericks.  She has grown through the ranks of the club and with her move to university, we are sorry to see her go but wish her the very best of luck in her next endeavours and her continued journey within netball.”

Summer Artman:

"Summer has been instrumental within the benecosMavericks for a number of years, a valued member of the squad with a personality and smile that lights up any room. Her continued drive for excellence and court time is unwavering and though she has had to move on from Mavericks this season,  we wish her all the very best of luck in her next chapter."

Both Zara and Summer wanted to share some thoughts with the benecosMavericks family:

Zara Everitt:

"After 4 exciting years at benecosMavericks I have made the difficult decision to move to a different SuperLeague club for the 2019 season.  I would like to thank the fans who have consistently shown their support via social media and on game days and of course all of the coaching staff who have contributed to my development, in addition to the amazing athletes I have trained and played with."

"I am now looking forward to taking on a new challenge during the coming season."

Summer Artman:

"When I moved to Mavericks from my home side Team Bath, I could never have imagined the journey I was about to embark on.  A fresher at university and a newbie at Mavericks meant a whole lot of change.  Over the past three years I have met team mates who have become close friends and coaches who have supported me wholeheartedly on and off the court.  I’ve developed as an athlete but now that I’ve graduated, I feel the time is right for me to go onto pastures new and bring some summer sunshine to a new team!"

"Thank you to everyone at benecosMavericks - volunteers, support staff, coaches, players, but also the fans who have shown me so much support and lover throughout my time at Mavs. #65 over and out!"
