Lindsay Keable & Michelle Drayne leave Saracens Mavericks

26th September 2019

Saracens Mavericks can confirm that long-serving defender Lindsay Keable & mid-courter Michelle Drayne will be leaving the club and preparing for fresh Netball Superleague challenges in the 2019/20 season.

Lindsay has been an excellent loyal player for Mavericks in her nine years pulling on the black and purple dress, demonstrating passion, loyalty and integrity throughout her time in Hertfordshire.

During her time with the team, Lindsay has proven to be one of the finest defenders in the league and helped Mavericks to a Superleague title in 2011.

A firm favourite with the fans, the former England defender has played under a number of Mavericks coaches including Maggie Jackson, Karen Atkinson, Sam Bird, Robyn Broughton and most recently, Kat Ratnapala.

A message from Lindsay 'The past 9 years with Mavericks has been one of the biggest privileges in my netball career. I came to the club as a player and I leave as a family member. To play for a club that I have loved from a young age and that has stood the test of time is an absolute honour. I cannot thank enough the amazing team of volunteers and fans that make playing every weekend for Mavericks such a wonderful experience. I wish the team well for the up coming season and will look forward to seeing them on court.'

Michelle has also been an excellent team member, player and ambassador for Saracens Mavericks for the past five years.

Representing Northern Ireland internationally, Michelle attended the World Cup in Liverpool in 2019, where she received a warm welcome onto court from Saracens Mavericks fans and Coaches. Michelle’s hard work, perseverance and tenacity has earned her a massive amount of respect across the VNSL and on the International stage.

Everybody at Saracens Mavericks would like to place on record our sincere thanks to the dedication and service Lindsay & Michelle have provided during their time with the club and we wish them both the very best for the future.
