Marshall expected to miss remainder of 2019 season

4th April 2019

Saracens Mavericks mid-courter Gabby Marshall is unlikely to return to the court for the remainder of the 2019 Vitality Netball Superleague season due to a re-occurrence of an ankle injury.

Marshall injured her ankle during England Roses training in January. Unfortunately, despite rehabilitation and a return to the court, a later scan revealed a fracture to her cuboid bone.

This requires additional time off court with an extensive period of rest.

Marshall said: “I am absolutely gutted to be ruled out for the remainder of the season. However, I would like to thank everybody at Saracens Mavericks for their support.

“The staff, players, volunteers and fans have rallied behind me and I really appreciate it. Although I will no longer be on court, I’ll be helping the girls in any way I can from the side-lines as we continue our push for the top four.”

Mavericks head coach Kat Ratnapala added: “Gabs has, and always will be, an integral part of our Saracens Mavericks squad, and she will continue to work with the squad this season.

“We have been really proud of her for completing her rehab so diligently and we will continue to support through this time in her career. Gabs is a fantastic athlete and we can’t wait to have her back on court with us.”
