Quashie called up by Vitality Roses

9th January 2019

Saracens Mavericks defender Razia Quashie has been selected for the Vitality Roses squad ahead of their International Quad Series with the Australia Diamonds, New Zealand Silver Ferns and South Africa Proteas which starts this weekend.

Having made her debut in the red dress against Jamaica last year, the youngster has once again been named in Tracey Neville’s squad after impressing in the Netball Superleague last season.

This is the final time that England will be in action ahead of hosting the Netball World Cup this July.

Saracens Mavericks head coach Kathryn Ratnapala feels that Quashie is well deserving of her call-up. She said: “Razia has come into her own in the last few seasons, gaining more experience and court time with Mavericks has exposed her to different styles of play and we are really pleased to see her gain another opportunity to wear the England dress in 2019.

“Wishing her and the Roses squad the very best of luck in the forthcoming matches, we'll be watching with pride.”

Fellow Saracens Mavericks players Kadeen Corbin, Sasha Corbin, George Fisher and Gabby Marshall have been selected to play in the England ‘A’ squad. They will take to the court to face the Roses, Australia and New Zealand.

Saracens Mavericks are next in action against Surrey Storm on Saturday with our first home game taking place on Friday 25 January against Loughborough Lightning.

Tickets for this match are sold-out but you can watch Roses captain Serena Guthrie bring her Team Bath side to the University of Essex on Saturday 16 February and you can book your tickets here.
