benecosMavericks is delighted to announce the final two athletes to sign for the 2019 VNSL season.  Returning for her 2nd Season with the squad is Australian shooting sensation Karyn Bailey.  Joining Karyn and bringing her defensive talents to the opposite end of the court is New Zealander Jo Trip*.

Karyn Bailey was one of the top shooters in the 2018 Vitality SuperLeague and a vital part of the benecosMavericks squad. She had this to say about her decision to return this year: “Last year I had such an incredible time at the club that it didn’t take much to convince me to stick around!  The people absolutely make this club, from the staff, the girls and the amazing supporters who have welcomed me with open arms.  I can’t wait to wear the black and purple dress again and continue to build on achieving our goals.”

Director of Netball Kathryn Ratnapala commented: “After a quality season last year, Karyn was a massive asset in the 2018 squad and a match winner with her precision shooting and intelligent game. Karyn has a wealth of experience at top level netball and I’m really pleased that she has signed with us for another season”

Circle defender, Jo Trip joins Mavericks from Surrey Storm and prior to this she enjoyed successful seasons at Both Lightning and Kia Magic in New Zealand.  She had this to say about making the move to benecosMavericks: “I am very privileged to be joining an incredible group of athletes at benecosMavericks this season!  The calibre of players, management and the vision of the franchise is exciting and I look forward to working with this group and making this vision a reality” 

Kat Ratnapala added: “Jo has proved herself as a tenacious and lethal defender in the Superleague, she is a hardworking and powerful athlete and I’m thrilled to have her bolster our defensive end and have her part of the squad for this coming season. “

“This announcement finalises our 2019 squad for the VNSL season and I hope benecosMavericks fans are as excited as I am to see this squad out on court competing for the title.”
