Gloria Keech, Franchise Director said "Kat is the final appointment of an outstanding coaching team, she is an experienced coach who knows what it takes to win Netball Superleague. I am delighted and excited to welcome her back to Mavericks."

Kat is a strong and thoughtful technical coach who was Assistant Coach at Mavericks between 2012 and 2014, working with Karen Atkinson.  Kat then went on to coach Surrey Storm to win the Netball Superleague in 2016.  An England Netball Technical Defensive Coach since 2012, Kat was part of the England Senior coaching team who defeated Australia 3-0 in the Test Series in 2013. Kat is also heavily involved with her Club side - Clan, who are based in High Wycombe.

Kat had this to say about her new role; “When the opportunity arose to re-join Mavericks, it was a very exciting prospect.  The professionalism, passion and support that the club has is arguably the strongest in the league.  With such a strong coaching force and family at Mavericks, It was an opportunity I couldn’t refuse.”

“I’d like to thank Storm coaches, players and fans for all their support last season.  It was an incredible year and one that I learnt a great deal from.  Looking ahead, I’m really excited and honoured to be able to work alongside Robyn, who comes with a wealth of knowledge and experience and has coached some of the world’s best players.  Also to work alongside my old England and Superleague team mate Camilla Buchanan will be fantastic.”

Kat concluded: “There are obviously a lot of changes this season and it will be interesting to see the teams evolve over the next few months.  I’m excited to start working with the athletes from Mavericks over the next couple of months.  Let the hard work begin – bring it on!”

Kat will join Mavericks on 1st October 2016 after coaching Surrey Storm’s U21 squad in the U21 September Showdown Tournament.
